(31: 18-19)”Turn not your cheek away from people in scorn and pride, and walk not on earth haughtily; for God does not love anyone who acts proudly and boastfully. Be modest in your bearing and lower your voice; for the ugliest sound is the donkey’s braying.”

Surat Al-Araf: verse 204

The Pond Full of Water

Posted: June 30, 2011 in All Posts, Stories

Once there was a king who told some of his workers to dig a pond. Once the pond was dug, the king made an announcement to his people saying that one person from each household has to bring a glass of milk during the night and pour it into the pond. So, the pond should be full of milk by the morning. After receiving the order, everyone went home. One man prepared to take the milk during the night. He thought that since everyone will bring milk, he could just hide a glass of water and pour inside the pond. Because it will be dark at night, no one will notice. So he quickly went and poured the water in the pond and came back. In the morning, the king came to visit the pond and to his surprise the pond was only filled with water! What has happened is that everyone was thinking like the other man that “I don’t have to put the milk, someone else will do it.”

Dear friends, when it comes to help the Religion of Allah, do not think that others will take care of it. Rather, it starts from you, if you don’t do it, no one else will do it. So, change yourself to the way of Allah to serve Him and that will make the difference.

Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 72 :: Hadith 780

Narrated Nafi’:

Ibn Umar said, The Prophet said, ‘Do the opposite of what the pagans do. Keep the beards and cut the moustaches short.’ Whenever Ibn ‘Umar performed the Hajj or ‘Umra, he used to hold his beard with his hand and cut whatever moustaches. Ibn Umar used to cut his moustache so short that the whiteness of his skin (above the upper lip) was visible, and he used to cut (the hair) between his moustaches and his beard.

Assalam Wa’laikum Warahmatullahi Wabara’katuh

Bismillah-hir Rahman-nir Raheem (I begin in the name of , the Beneficient and Merciful)

I recently created a Twitter acount (@turntoislam) and was fairly new and didn’t know much about it. I searched some Islam related people and I followed people like @IslamThinking, @Lembuchu, and @GuidedHeart and was very surprised about what they talked about. So I decided to create a Twitter that I could establish and have many followers and post Islam-Related tweets! Everyday I try to get in a 20-30 minute Tafseer Session at around 7:30 P.M. (-4 GMT) and I hope to see many of you there!

I have wondered, if the Muslim Ummah would be as knowledgeable as the Sahaba’s were in the time of Rasool (Salallahu A’layhi Wassallam) then there would be more than double the Muslims there are in the world right now! But unfortunately, we aren’t and can’t be as knowledgeable as them because we are sinning constantly. But don’t you think we can give it a try? We can’t give up! Well that’s why I am doing this, to spread the information with YOUR help!  If you Tweet or Like this than the message will spread!
